Cookie policy

This page explains what darwaza keeps in your browser, why, and for how long. It covers this website and your account. The visitors of the sites you build are covered by your own site's notice. For what we do with the data itself, read the privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of text a browser keeps for a site and sends back to it with each request. We also use browser storage and tab storage, which stay on your device and are not sent to us. Everything below is darwaza's own, unless it says otherwise.

Strictly necessary

Always on, because signing in, protection, your language and your theme do not work without them. They need no consent:

• Sign-in session __Host-session (cookie): Keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts on the page. Lasts: 5 days, or until you sign out.
• Device identifier __Host-device (cookie): A random device identifier that stops one person from opening many accounts for free credits. It cannot be read by scripts on the page. Lasts: 400 days.
• Language PARAGLIDE_LOCALE (cookie): Remembers your language. Lasts: 400 days.
• Theme (cookie): Remembers light, dark or your system’s theme. Lasts: 12 months.
• Cookie choice darwaza-consent (cookie): Remembers your cookie choice, with the date and the version of this policy. Lasts: 12 months.
• Site preview (cookie): On the preview address of a site you are building: lets only you see it before it is published, with a second copy for browsers that refuse the first. Lasts: 1 hour.
• Pages in progress (tab storage): Carries what you asked for from one page to the next: the idea you typed before signing up, the change you asked for in the studio, the feature you chose to add. Lasts: until you close the tab.
• Security check (nothing stored): On the sign-up, sign-in and password reset pages, a security check from our security provider tells people from automated sign-ups. It runs in its own frame and sets no cookie on this site; the provider may keep short-lived data of its own in that frame, only for the check. Lasts: the length of the check.
• Device check (nothing stored): On the sign-up and sign-in pages, the page reads a few browser signals, such as the screen size, to tell devices apart. Nothing is stored in your browser for it, and we keep the result only as a keyed hash. Lasts: nothing is kept in the browser.

Preferences

Only when you allow them. While they are off, these choices last until you leave the page, and when you turn them off we delete what they kept:

• Sidebar (cookie): Remembers whether the sidebar is folded. Lasts: 12 months.
• Studio panes (browser storage): Remembers the size of the studio’s panes. Lasts: until you clear your browser data.
• Show advanced infra.show-advanced (browser storage): Remembers whether “Show advanced” is on. Lasts: until you clear your browser data.

Analytics and advertising

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we share nothing in your browser with advertisers. If that changes, we will update this page and ask you before any of it runs.

Your choice

• The cookie form appears on your first visit, with "Accept all", "Reject non-essential" and "Customise", all given the same weight.
• Change your choice at any time from the cookie button at the bottom of the page, or from "Cookie settings" in the footer or in your account menu.
• Your choice is kept for 12 months, and we ask again when this policy changes.
• You can also delete cookies in your browser's settings, but that signs you out.
